(A) TELESCOPES
Holomon Astronomical Station houses a group
of nine telescopes. The main telescopes in use are a Meade LX-200 (D=250mm,
F=2000mm, f/8) mounted on a heavy duty, custom made, permanent base and a
Celestron C-11 XLT (D=280mm, F=2800mm, f/10) mounted on the EQ-6 Skyscan Pro
mount. These are supported by a Vixen VC200L (D=200mm, F=1800mm, f/9), a
Celestron G8-N (D=200mm, F=1000mm, f/5) and a Skywatcher (D=200mm, F=1000mm,
f/5) telescope. An apochromatic Vixen refractor (D=102mm, F=1000mm, f/9.8) two
Konus (D=150m, F=1000mm, f/6.6 & D=114mm, F=500mm, f/4,3) and a Celestron
(D=80mm, F=900mm, f/11) with an Ha Filter complete the group.
(B) INSTRUMENTS
There are two astronomical CCD cameras in
use on
(C) COMPUTER SUPPORT
The
computer facilities of the Station are quite adequate, consisting of four
workstations operating both Linux and Windows, supplied with a variety of
astronomical programs including IRAF, Starlink, and MIDAS. A custom made data
reduction pipeline, the NEMESIS software, is being employed as the main
reduction facility.
