Both the brains and the heart behind Holomon Astronomical
Station are John H.
Seiradakis (Professor, Department of Physics) and Stavros I. Avgoloupis (Professor, Department of Education, ex-Assoc.Prof.
Department of Physics). They are the ones who concieved the idea of building
the Station and also the ones who turned this idea into reality. Furthermore,
they embrace any new proposals for scientific projects with unequalled support
and endless enthousiasm.
Much is also owned to the
devotion and hard work of the technician of the Observatory of Thessaloniki
Evangellos Tsorlinis, as well as the invaluable help of George Panouryias, Head
of the Forest Inspection on Mt.Holomon.
All the research projects are conducted by a group of
pregraduate students of the Deparment of Physics. The group
currently consists of four memebers: Dimitris
Mislis, Stelios Pyrzas, Evangellia Tremou and Giannis Nestoras.
