The scientific goal of Seeing-GR Project is to study astronomical seeing in a large geographical scale and to find out the relations (if any) with weather and geographical data. In this way in the future a strong statistical prediction could be made for new astronomical sites.
A side project of Seeing-GR, it will be to measure also scintilation with high acuraccy. In this way we will have a far better knowledge of the quality of an observing site since we will have information about photometric and adaptive optics capabilities. Of course it will be the first time to measure astronomical seeing of a whole country and to know exactly the best sites for observing!!
Below you can find detailed information about astronomical seeing and all the theory that is behind the Seeing-GR Project.
